This one will only be tiny, sorry!
I had pretty much one of the best weekends ever. I hung out with the cute boy for the entire time (we went to Tom’s party, had a picnic, hung out with Ashley, went shopping for guitar stuff and made out a whooole lot) and even though I’m completely stuffed at the moment, I can’t wait to do it again. We might be going fishing next weekend

(I totally have pretty much the hottest boyfriend ever, just fyi for you slackers :P)
In other news, our threadless shirts arrived. Expect posey photos soon.

FRIDAY
I awoke on Friday morning half excited, half nervous.. I tend to panic a little a bout flying. Mum loves it - hell, my whole family loves it, but it kind of puts me on edge a little. In any case, excitement prevailed and I put all my stuff in bags, ready to leave. Work flew by, which was unusual for a Friday, and after some tense traffic and Not Nearly Enough kissing from the cute boy, I was suddenly on a tiny little plane to Sydney. Well. Newcastle. After exchanging some brief pleasantries with my temporary neighbour, I settled into my seat and stared vacantly out the window. After getting over trying to search for my house, and my friends houses from the air, I pondered the potential events of the coming weekend - particularly the concerts… until I came to the conclusion that time was not passing quickly enough and that an episode of Boston Legal was in order. As it turns out, my battery was only aprtially charged and I ended up boston-blue-balling myself - so I resorted to staring into the ocean of green out the window.
Thankfully we landed (quite bumpily, actually.) and I was greeted with a giant hug and a bucnh of giggles what looked to be a pile of very happy curls. Turns out, Rachel has grown her hair longer and it has gotten very, very happy. Earlier on, while Nathan was driving me to the airport, I’d been speculating that we’d have Thai for tea - and it turned out that I was right - and it was excellent Thai, too. Beacuse Saturday was Rach’s birthday, when her parents arrived home we celebrated early. Presents were opened and very delicious cake was consumed (oh god it was so rich.) - middleton birthdays are really nice and family-like. I haven’t had a birthday like that in the longest time, it was nice to be a part of it. Bigtime happy birthday to Rachel!
SATURDAY You guys know how I’m late all the time, yeah? Admittedly, it has definitely improved as I’ve gotten older (I think the lack of influence from mother, who is perpetually late- seriously we’d tell her things were half an hour earlier just to get her there on time, helps), I panic a little about being late for things. So, after sleeping in and kicking around in one of the most comfortable beds EVER, I woke up, freaked out a little, and jammed my displaced belongings haphazardly back into my backpack. Rachel, as neat as ever, had her things already packed away into her suitcase - with an excellent addition atop:

Rachel lives quite near to a railway station (it makes me laugh knowing that when Ian was stuck out at the railway station he would’ve had to look at her house, all full of tears and misc. :D) so we walked over - on the awy, her dad teased her about leaving her tickets behind to the point of her opening her bag just to make sure they were there - it was really cute. Once we said our goodbyes to her parents and boarded the train, I think excitement officially kicked in (I was grinning like an idiot. Sure, a TIRED idiot, but an idiot) and we took some excited train photos

Upon arrival in Sydney, we were both ravenous - so we sought out a chinese restaurant fitting of our crazy hunger - we ended up at one of the many places in that stretch of restaurants in Sydney’s chinatown (the one near Paddy’s) that serve the $12 lunch specials - in keeping with my current chilli addiction, I went for the chilli chicken and garlic. The service was pretty terrible, to be honest. Once the spruiker at the front of the restuarant had us seated, the waiters and waitresses ignored us, botched orders, and didn’t bring drinks - but the food made up for it. It was really, really yummy and incredibly filling. I’m craving some now actually. THE MSG IS ADDICTIVE.

Ohhh… speaking of addiction. Rachel and I became addicted to Polo Buns. Better known as Pineapple Skin Buns, these.. things. They’re these amazing sweet buns, often with filling (I prefer them without, to be perfectly honest), with a cracked, buttery/sugary/awesome-y top. My overwhelming desire for these delicious, delicious buns is kind of starting to interfere with my life. I NEED TO FIND AN ASIAN BAKERY IN BRISBANE oh god *screws up face*. Needless to say, we ate a -lot- of these while we were away. Eventually, once we decided we were satisfied and stuffed full of asian delights, we made our way to our hotel. The Central Regent Hotel, as far as I remember - and it was lovely. The woman at the counter greeted us with a big smile and informed us that the place had only been open for a fortnight. Upon entering our room, it was immediately obvious- it was so clean and smelled so new! Us being us, we took a bunch of photos.

After giggling like idiots and getting all excited about being concert goers, we decided to get all skanked up and look like messy concert whores. When we got to luna park we discovered that our sluz level, while impressively high as far as Rachel and I go, was barely comperable to our fellow concerteers. We felt it only necessary to loudly mock the others waiting in line. Our mocking was justified though - honestly, these people.. well. I wish I’d gotten photos. When we first got there there were some cool people milling around - but once we found out where the line really was and settled in, we found ourselves stuck beside a group of the most annoying people I’ve ever encountered (Note: This may be an exaggeration. I have encountered a great deal of annoying people but seriously, this troupe of bumbling dimwits were way up there.). We, along with a group of three guys from the gold coast (who were FROM THE INTERNETS) were sandwiched between two groups of barely pubescent miscreants.
The first group were just in front of us in line, and consisted of three people, and a few who came and went. The ‘main group’ included a fat bi/lesbian with a plethora of self inflicted scars up and down her arms- her outfit revealed not only her terrible, shameful past of cutting and crying, but also some disturbingly saggy breasts. Unfortunately, she seemed to celebrate them - thus the low cut shirt- and was all too happy to have them jiggling about. It was almost sickening. The second member of their party was a young boy - 17, we found out, with Sherman-Red hair, terrible teeth, an overabundance of pimples and a keen interest in molesting his 14 year old girlfriend with his tongue. The third, the aforementioned 14 year old, was.. actually probably quite a pretty girl, aside from the skanky makeup, horrible legwarmers and unfortunate teeth. That, and she was glued to the side of the dang boy, who seemed quite intent on inspecting the contents of her stomach with the tip of his tongue. The other group were slightly less memorable, but I vaguely remember a giant manwomanbeast who smoked
cigars and had a well practised look, somewhat scathing and full of faux-discontent, and a few other angsty teens. All that aside, here’s some photos of Rachel and I looking skanky.

It wasn’t all bad though. Infact, it wasn’t bad at all. We stood in line and got progressively more excited. I managed to get myself groped by a clown (never say “I have a proposition for you” to a clown. Trust me, it can only end in arse touchin’.), we got to hang out with cool-ish Queensland kids, we got to see what we’d look like as midgets.. and then there was NINE INCH NAILS. Holy bejeebus mc crazy christ in hell. It was -fantastic-. I have the setlist from both nights - the first is as follows: hyperpower! the beginning of the end last sin march of the pigs something i can never have closer survivalism burn gave up me, i’m not the great destroyer eraser only wish the good soldier no, you dont suck the day the whole world went away dead souls down in it the hand that feeds head like a hole hurt I was absolutely blwon away. Honestly, it was an amazing set. The only even minor criticisms I had (As far as songs I wanted to hear) were rectified on Sunday.. but we’ll have more on that later. I got headbutted and engaged in other varied semi violent activity whilst in the moshpit, but most of my time was devoted to grinning, screaming, and singing along. I got some great videos too, particularly of Hurt. God, it was a fantastic show. We got noodles on the way home, and I got to talk to Nathan for ages when we got back to the hotel.
What an awesome day.
SUNDAY
..is soon to come. I’ve gotta go do some work.

Apologies in advance for the tardiness of this post.
I’ve been a regular attendee of OCAU meets for quite some time, even to the point of organising a few of them. A while ago, Flora and I decided that it was time for another meet, so we arranged an evening of drunken debauchery at O’Malleys in the city, with usual half arsed pub crawl extension - an optional extra, for those willing to make complete douchebags of themselves.
For me, OCAU meets have always been a fantastic excuse to get all messed up and kiss lots of boys. Not that I require an excuse, of course. I suppose it just provided an easy entry in to the realm of boozing and necking. Particularly in recent times - since the Brisbane OCAU crowd all aged, there’s been a significant increase in SCANDAL, as illustrated in my previous post. For a stack of geeky nerdy geeky nerds, the level of licentiousness seems somehow completely out of proportion. This is me looking back on hazy, very drunken memories though. I could’ve been watching a group of sweaty football players, for all I know.
In any case, the recent OCAU meet was good times. Even Ashley posted a couple of times about all the fun he had. Although slightly tamer than usual (I think i spent half the evening messaging Nathan), everyone seemed to have a great time. Even Sammy (along with David and Trin) showed up, I met a whole stack of new people, ate some awesome guiness pie (it was mostly the mashed potato), and had some entertaining Habibi/Wyld Stallyns action while dropping Sabs back to his place.
Here’s some photos for your enjoyment. And by yours, I mean my own. I like to look at myself and make kissy faces. Kissy faces accompanied by the occasional “Oh, Oh yeah. That’s.. Oh yeah.”
