I strongly urge all of you to come.  It’s going to be an awesome show!

Brief Updates

- We’ve developed an obsession with the Gilmore Girls.  Well, the cute boy has.  I’ve simply rediscovered mine.

- The girls party on the weekend was fun.  I made a few purchases that should prove quite interesting, and got kinda drunk.  Ashley had fun too.

- Eating lunch with the boy during the week is one of the best things ever.  Extra kisses, lots of hand holding.. mmm.  It helps that he’s really, really hawt.

- I raelly love doing the cooking/washing.  I think I’m turning into a housewife.  Also, I’m a crazy broad and when I’m alone I recognise that and realise that my insecurities are retarded.  So.. I’m going to work on it.  Pinky promise.

There’s gotta be a catch.

Everything is far, far too perfect right now.  I’ve either pleased a leprechaun/some kind of mythical luck bringing creature with my mouth, stumbled upon a whole stack of four leaf clovers without eralising it, or I’m being setup for a huge karmic letdown.  Since I can’t remember even spotting green grass recently, and I’m sure I’d remember any kind of leprechaun love, I’m going to avoid counting my chickens just yet.

On with the show.

Recently I became a permanent (temporary perm, I should say) at my already awesome new job.  Being a government employee?  Awesome.  Flex days?  Even -more- awesome.  Life since Telstra has been oddly wonderful, especially as far as employment goes.  Due to the shift work I didn’t sleep very well - and I feel like I’ve never slept quite so well in my whole life.

When I learned I could apply for a position that had become available - a similar position but with a tad more responsibility, and a little more money, I jumped at the chance.  Despite my initial reservations (dislike of change, not wanting to make new friends) I gladly accepted the role when it was offered, and I start on the 22nd.  My new contract is 11 months - so unless I do something really naughty, I have employment until at least October.  Needless to say, I’m happy about it.  Thanks to the payrise, I can finally grow some decent savings (for some travel, or a house, or for my usual emergencies) - and I’ve ordered a new laptop.

The boy situation could not possibly be better, especially after this weekend.  I shant elaborate.

My housemates are amazing.  As disappointed as I was that my previous situation fell apart quite spectacularly - the place I’m in is fantastic.  I live with two of the most awesome, hilarious and thoughtful people I know.

For those that haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Scott, I’m going to take the liberty to describe him.

Imagine the most hilarious person you’ve ever met.  I’m talking side-splitting, laugh hard at least once a day kind of guy.  Now shrink him a little, put him in a pair of shiny-ass aviators, stick some brown, well worn chucks on his feet, an almost but never quite afro (the extremely sexy-kind) on his head and top it off with some perfectly (yet effortlessly, or so it seems) maintained sideburns.

Now picture him ten times more hilarious than I initially described.

That’s my Scott.

If that wasn’t enough, he’s also one of the best friends and housemates you could possibly have.  Always there to be a shoulder, offer construtive criticism, or to tell me to shut up and stop being retarded if necessary.  Great taste in movies and an impressive DVD collection.  Great kid.

I attempted to sketch a scott on my piece of paper here but I failed miserably.  I don’t think I could bear the lack of artistic talent mockery so I’m going to avoid putting that up here.

Cameron on the other hand.. I’d be surprised if many of you were even aware of Cameron.  He’s fantastic.  When he ventures forth from his cam-cave, he’s usually quite hilarious.  Sometimes kinda softly spoken, but generally wise and insightful.  We’ve had oodles of drawn out msn conversations over the couple of years that I’ve known him, and I’ve always found him to be helpful, thoughtful and honest.  He’s a great sounding board and, somewhat similarly to Scott, is refreshingly honest when it comes to my moments of stupidity.

He’s very pretty.  Very big blue eyes.

Unfortunately, and this is the only negative in this entire post, they’ll both be leaving me at various points this year.  I’ve grown extremely fond of them both and I’ll miss them horribly.

I have the best best friend in the world.  My Ashley?  He’s amazing.  I don’t even know how to describe him in a whole bunch of words because even if I tried, I couldn’t do him justice.

The health stuff is going.. well.. it’s going.  Even though things aren’t perfect, I’m fine until at least next month :D

There’s so much more I want to say about how excellent everyone and everything is, but I really don’t want to jinx it.

I guess I’m just really happy.

4 Month Picnic! (With completely adorable photos.)

Posted 9 months, 3 weeks ago at 4:11 pm. 0 comments

As of Today, Nathan and I have been doing this thing for 4 months.  (Yes, only 4 months. )  Even though it feels like much, much longer sometimes.

We decided to go on a picnic - ever since I ‘borrowed’ the picnic basket from mum I’ve been using it as often as possible.  That, and I really like  picnics.  Kind of makes me realise that one day I might have a kid or two running around and eating too many lollies and quite possibily puking on the playground equipment.  Especially one of those spinny-aroundy-thingys.

You know the ones.  Here are some photos.

After the picnic we went home, sprawled out on the couch for some hot gilmore on gilmore action, and then rounded out the day with thai food for tea.  Good thai, too.  The purple one.
