Ashley, Scott and I went to an OCAU meet last night.
The initial part of the evening was at O’Malleys - we usually try to book what we affectionately refer to as ‘the library’ but lucked out this time - so the group of.. perhaps 30 geeks, I won’t try to be precise, gathered around a bunch of tables. By the time Ashley arrived, the regulars were already there - Geoff, James, Adrian et al were gathered on the booth side of one of the tables pretty much like this:

After saying hello and doing the usual brief catchup, I decided to introduce myself to a couple of people I didn’t recognise. I was greeted with a few hellos and handshakes, and one “omigod you used to live with scruff lol you’re a psycho”, (which, white utterly impolite, made a few people laugh after relaying it to them) I settled in and, when it arrived, ate my $2 mashed potato.
Eventually, once everyone had had a feed and a few brews, the natives started to get restless - especially after Scott arrived:

And some of the natives slightly less restless:

After making an appropriate amount of noise and mess, the group headed up to Strike - just in time for our 9:30 booking. By this stage, Scott was sloshed, Ashley was cheerful, Chantelle and Richie were trashed, and I was looking on with great interest. Chris bought me my favourite cocktail (the backhand panther) and because I’d decided not to bowl, I sat around watching everyone else.

More to come - gotta get back to work!

My bed feels so empty
I never thought I’d get used to sleeping beside someone, but I have, and now I can’t sleep properly. (well, in the same bed as. I’m still getting used to ‘beside’, and I’m a few hundred metres away from ’snuggling with’.) I’m sure once I get to sleep I’ll be fine, it’s just those few minutes before sleeping with the murmuring sweet nothings and nuzzling down that I’m missing. You know, cold nose against shoulder, soft lips running exploratory kisses down the collarbone, arms draped loosely around torsos - careful, practised fingers and thumbs rubbing delicate patterns over warm, familiar skin.. it’s practically a pre-sleep ritual. And if it isn’t, it should be! (Note to self: Institute pre-sleep ritual as above..)
That said, I’m in a generally shitty mood actually. Put it down to tiredness perhaps - because my day was great. I did more work than usual whilst at work, which was fine, and I had a great evening hanging out with Ashley (who so graciously came and picked me up from work today, how awesome is he?) because of his horrible New Zealand blunder - but I’m just in a shitty mood
I’ll update with something more substantial tomorrow, promise. I’ve been working on a post for a couple of days that I can’t quite perfect, even though it’s great news. AND I have to fill you all in about how well camping is progressing. Oooer, also, Nathan booked a boat for this weekend
Yay! Fishing!

I’m really happy right now.
My second week at work couldn’t have gone better, the diet and exercise is back on track and going swimmingly, I caught up with all my awesome Telstra friends on Thursday, and I have like the best boyfriend ever.
Thursday night was fantastic - we headed out to Harem in Paddington for dinner. Despite my reservations in regards to particular potential attendees (Oooh, cryptic!), the entire group seemed to have a wonderful time. The food was delicious, my new dress was cute, the belly dancer was hot, and I finally got to hang out with my Ashley. I still miss him lots though :( Lucily, he and the boy seem to have taken a liking to each other - Nathan taught him rock-lock :P I don’t really know what I would’ve done if they hadn’t, to be honest. Well, I do, but.. I’m thankful that they get along, or whatever.
I spent pretty much the rest of the week hanging out with the boy, and it was totally awesome. Awesome-o awesome.
I have a list of things I must accomplish this week though;
- Gym at least four times.
- Finish washing alllll the clothes on the floordrobe.
- Drinking with Justin
- Post work drinks with Ashley <3
- Enquire about uni stuff.
- Sort out PT stuff.

I really like the idea behind Valentines day.
No no, not the shopping and the gifting and the presenting. The… set aside a day where you reaally go out of your way to do something special for your significant other. The cooking dinner and being affectionate and cute.
And if you’re single? Do what I’m doing. Going out with a bunch of cute single friends to drink and be merry (and head to work at 11:10pm :()
In any case, have an awesome day guys. Much love to you all. <3
===================================
I’ve returned, fairly unscathed, from the valentinesing activities. They weren’t very valentinesy aside from the end of evening hugs, but I had a great time. I seriously have to go out more often, and I must have Ashley at my side when I do it, he’s the coolest guy.
After having a few brews at UJs, we headed up to the pancake manor to have some food, which was quite delicious. Shortly after, we went to the downunder bar where I allegedly danced. Don’t believe a word of it, it never happened. Now? I’m at work, chilling out, with a teensy bit of a headache.
Kisses, kids. I’m off to do some work. *chuckles*
Yeah, I thought it was funny too.
